Am I Tithing Right or Am I Cheap Tipping By Gods Offering Table.

Malachi 3:8-10

Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, 'How are we robbing thee?' In your tithes and offerings.

9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me; the whole nation of you.

10 Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.

Now, ask yourself what the world says about robbing someone. Well we all know robbing someone is a major crime that puts you in a jail cell.

In Malachi verse 10 you will be cursed with a curse, well what is a curse? (To bring great evil upon; to be the cause of serious harm or unhappiness to; to furnish with that which will be a cause of deep trouble; to afflict or injure grievously; to harass or torment).

Let’s take a look at Luke 6:38

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

If you are giving in your tithes or faithfully putting time into your church such as: Cutting the grass, cleaning up the church bathrooms, or serving faithfully.

If you are tithing then in return it’s pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. NOW HERE IS WHERE WE FALL SHORT!!!! For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

If you are not paying you tithes or putting time into your ministry or let’s just say you earn 100.00 dollars and your tithe is 10.00 dollars, well the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Now if you only put in one dollar or nothing then same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Bottom line you only get what you give! And don’t expect God to bail you out of your financial problems or bless you with that home you have been praying for when you have been giving nothing and looking for one dollar to bless you in the long run that you put in offering.

This also applies to your whole life of wants, needs and was that’s right was, because what you have now, you want to have later. Your store house shall dry up.

Am I Tithing Right or Am I Cheap Tipping By Gods Offering Table. edited
Malachi 3:8-10

Kelly: True biblical tithes were always only food from inside Israel. Although money was common even in Genesis and essential for sanctuary worship, money was never included in 16 texts which describe the contents of the tithe. Jesus, Peter and Paul did not qualify as tithe-payers and neither did the poor nor those who lived outside Israel.

Carter: In Malachi verse 10 you will be cursed with a curse …

Kelly: Galatians 3:13 says that Jesus died and removed the curse of the law on Christians. Jesus deals with His Church, His own body, in terms of the New Covenant. God cannot and will not bless a New Covenant believer because he/she has obeyed only one of over 600+ Old Covenant commands given only to national Israel. Ex 19:5-6. Galatians 3:10-13 clearly replaces Malachi 3:10-12 for Hebrews and Gentiles never were under that law.

Carter: Luke 6:38

Kelly: Luke 6:38 is not a discussion of tithing. It is a discussion of freewill, generous and sacrificial giving which is repeated to the Church after Calvary in 2nd Cor 8 and 9.

Carter: If you are giving in your tithes …

Kelly: No New Covenant believer can give a true biblical tithe of food from inside Israel. Even if it is 10% or more, it is still only a freewill offering. Why not obey all of the tithing statute of Numbers 18 and compel the pastor to forfeit property ownership and inheritance?

Carter: If you are tithing then in return it’s pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.

Kelly: You are manipulating God's Word by using Luke 6:38 as a tithing text.

Carter: Bottom line you only get what you give!

Kelly: True, but that doesn't validate teaching the false doctrine of tithing.

Carter: Don't expect God to bail you out if you have not been tithing …

Kelly: There are tens of thousands of faithful "tithers" in the ghettos of America who have been "tithing" for generations and remain bogged down in poverty with no education to get a better job. They are not blessed with overflowing blessing because God is now working using the New Covenant.

NT giving is: freewill, generous, sacrificial, joyful, not by commandment (or percentage) and motivated by love for God and lost souls. That means that many should give more than 10% but many other are giving sacrificially even though less than 10% per 2nd Cor 8:12-15. Please stop teaching the false doctrine of OT tithing and teach NT freewill giving which has the blessings of the Holy Spirit per 2 Cor 3:10-18.
